Time flies when you are having fun...

I originally came back to the land of blogging to document what I hope to be the start of transforming my body and getting back in shape. Upon signing in, I saw all the old blogs and realized it has been almost 7 years since we have posted anything. It was fun to look at some of the old blog posts. I could type for days trying to catch everyone up on what has happened over the past 7 years, but with limited time and honestly a fairly poor memory, I figure it would be best to just fill in where our family is right now.
I am currently 38 years OLD! Most days I feel it too. My weight has been a constant struggle and I am in the worst shape of my life. Which is saying something. My knee is causing me more trouble than ever, which makes it difficult to exercise. I am hoping that this will finally be the year where I get back on track. I have been a stay-at-home dad since graduating from college in 2010. It has been a blessing for our family to have a parent at home with the kids. While I do often miss the social aspect of working and interacting with adults, I am pretty happy in the role I have taken in our home. I still find time to go out to movies with friends and through youth sports I get a lot of adult interaction. I have coached Taylor in baseball for quite some time now and I really have enjoyed watching him progress. Haley is my little princess and Kristy is the best wife a guy could ever ask for.
Kristy is now 36. She is the CFO for Goodwill Industries and I can't even begin to list all of her accomplishments. She is a CFO/CPA with an MBA from Northwest Christian University. She has been extremely successful in her professional career and works very hard to provide us with an amazing life. We were able to finally purchase a home a few years ago. We love our house and the neighborhood we live in. It really is a great place to raise a family. Kristy has become quite the runner over the years. She has run a number of half marathons and one full marathon. She enjoys running and working out. It helps her to relieve the stress of having a job that requires so much responsibility. Goodwill has opened a store in Alaska and Kristy has been a huge part in the success and planning of that endeavor. She travels a lot for work and has been able to see and do some incredible things. we are so proud of her accomplishments and for all that she does for us. She truly is the best mom and wife ever!
Taylor is now 12, almost 13! He is in 7th grade at Cal Young Middle School. He plays flag football, basketball, and of course baseball. He is developing into a very tall and handsome young man. He is very talented at sports and has shown advanced skills in baseball, which has landed him on multiple All-Star teams over the years and has provided us with some great trips and memories. He is smart, funny, athletic, and a real ladies man. He is already breaking hearts left and right. He is a good big brother. Recently he was ordained as a deacon and went on his first youth temple trip. He has done well at school. We are just trying to get to that point where he consistently puts forth his best effort. Hard to believe he will be a teenager in just over a month from now!
Haley is 8 going on 15. She is the kindest, sweetest, and funniest girl I know. She loves to sing, dance, and play the piano. She loves Disney Channel and I think she has dreams of being a star someday. She is constantly singing, writing lyrics, and writing in journals. She loves to make things and enjoys a wide variety of crafts and DIY projects. She also has gotten into basketball and recently made her first three baskets in a game. She is often the center of attention. She loves to snuggle mom and dad and also enjoys tickling and being tickled. She does very well at school and loves to read. She loves hanging with her friends, especially her BFF Grace. Haley brings such a sweet spirit to our home.
Last but not least, is Copper. Copper is our family pet we got a little over a year ago. He is a small, adorable dog with a wonderful personality. He is a Maltese/Yorkie mix. He loves to play and snuggle and really is the best little dog. We love him so much and are so grateful that he is part of our family.
That is us for now!

Family Update

The Langworthy family is doing great. Last year brought a lot of happiness and successes and this year is showing signs of being even better.

Kristy finished her CPA examinations and is now officially a CPA! She is working hard to support our little family and we are so proud of her and amazed at all that she is able to accomplish. She is also currently serving in the primary presidency in our ward which keeps her busy on Sundays. She has also found some girls in our ward that she really likes and she enjoys spending time hanging out with them.

Taylor is halfway through kindergarten and is loving every minute of it. He is doing really well in school and has made some nice new friends. He even tells us that he has a girlfriend named Isabella in his class. She draws him pictures of hearts and them holding hands, and one time she even gave him a charm off of her bracelet. It is cute and harmless. Taylor also has some friends from church named Ayden and Jackson who he absolutely loves to play with. They have sleepovers and enjoy playing video games on the Wii together.

Haley is growing and growing. She is learning lots of new words and is getting better at trying to communicate with us. She enjoys playing with Taylor and can be seen following him around the house, copying the things that he is doing. Haley's favorite things right now are Blue's Clues, playing chase, tickling, playing with Taylor, mommy, and daddy, reading books, and taking baths.

As for me, I recently finished my last term of school at the University of Oregon. I am graduating with a Sociology degree with a concentration in crime and delinquency. I currently stay home with the kiddos while I focus on getting back in shape. I plan on trying to be a police officer, so getting in shape is my top priority at this point. I won't get into my progress in this post, but you can read about it on my other blog which tracks my journey toward a healthier life at http://camsquest.blogspot.com/

Other than being a stay at home dad and going to the gym every day, I serve as the second counselor in our ward elders quorum presidency. I love to play with the kids, play Rockband on the Wii, and hang out with new friends from church. Occasionally I get to go to Duck basketball games too with my friend Nate. I also spend more time reading than I did when I was in school because now I can choose the literature, and I don't have a deadline!

It is definitely a great time to be a Langworthy!
